How to Track Ovulation

Happy Fertility Friday!

One of the most powerful things you can do on your fertility journey is learn how to track ovulation. Understanding when your body is releasing an egg gives you a clearer picture of your cycle—and a better chance at conceiving.

Here are a few ways you can track ovulation at home:

  • Ovulation Predictor Kits (OPKs): These at-home tests detect the surge in luteinizing hormone (LH) that occurs 24–36 hours before ovulation. A positive result means it’s time to try!

  • Basal Body Temperature (BBT): By taking your temperature first thing each morning and tracking subtle shifts, you may be able to spot the temperature rise that follows ovulation.

  • Cervical Mucus Changes: As ovulation nears, cervical mucus often becomes clear and stretchy—similar to egg whites—indicating fertile days.

  • Cycle Tracking Apps: Logging your cycle symptoms, periods, and test results can help you identify patterns and predict your most fertile days.
